The Dallas Harlequins started the game on fire and set the pace of the game early denying posession to the visiting Washinton team with strong tacking and quick support at the breakdowns. After 10 minutes a shell shocked Washington finally woke up and settled into a game that would see them defending and on their back foot for the majority of the afternoon.By the 20th minute with the Quins holding a 31-0 lead it was obviously not going to be Washingtons afternoon as the Quins continued to break the Wasington defence scoring at almost every posession. Washington's only chance at a score came close to the half but was knocked on denying them the chance to get on the score board before the break. In the second half Washington finally got some posession and up'd the pace of their game as they tested the Dallas defense but slow support at the breakdown denied them any continuity to mount a sustained attack. Washington continued to hold on gamely but by the 65th minute they were running out of steam as the flood gates opened and the Quins poured on the points. Excellent performances by both the Quins pack and back line who linked together well out muscling the Washington forwards and pouring players through in support at the breakdowns. |
